I’m Florian.

I'm Florian Gendritzki. On The Adventure Beyond, I write about my Jeep trips, abandoned places, travels and storms. Photos and films are part of it for me too.

I enjoy all sorts of things. Sometimes I take the Jeep off-road, sometimes I follow a storm front. When I explore an abandoned place, I want to know what went on there and what's left today.

Here, you can see my photos and films and read how the trips went. That includes the preparations, Jeep upgrades and things that didn't work out along the way.

On the road in the Jeep

I enjoy taking my Wrangler off-road. I keep learning what the vehicle can do and what I need to watch out for.

The upgrades are part of it too: a roof rack, storage and little things that make the Jeep more useful for my trips. Here, I write about the installation and what I like about the equipment, or what I don't.

Out chasing storms

Storms, cloud formations and changing light have interested me for a long time. When a dark cloud edge approaches, I want to watch it develop and capture it on camera.

That's what took me to Culemborg too. From the approaching shelf cloud to the rain, there's plenty to tell about trips like that.

Churches, bunkers and other abandoned places

I like taking a closer look at abandoned buildings. An old grand piano, a damaged door or an empty room can keep me thinking for a long time. I often want to know how the place used to be used.

I'm especially interested in what's still there: furniture, doors, old equipment and small traces of everyday life.

Winston is part of it all.

Winston is part of it all too, of course. My bulldog is my buddy, outdoors and on the sofa at home. You'll also find trips with my son, camping and the occasional coffee outside.

Winston keeps things lively at home too. Sometimes all it takes is the vacuum cleaner.
