FIELD REPORT / ABANDONED PLACES
A fire-damaged house among trees and ivy. I walk through damaged rooms, past a long counter and the remains of the furniture.
There's a bright window at the far end of the room, with woodland beyond. In front of it are a damaged counter and dark walls, with building parts scattered on the floor. This view is what I remember most from the visit. Outside, everything is green. Inside, the fire damage is clear.
Behind the overgrown façade
From outside, I see dark window openings and plants climbing the walls. The house sits among the greenery.

Ivy grows over the brickwork and around the windows. Parts of the building are damaged, and thick vegetation surrounds it.
Rooms after the fire
Cupboards and worktops remain in the kitchen, with rubble beside them. Plaster has fallen from the walls and many surfaces are blackened. I continue through the rooms, finding more remains of the furniture along the way.

The room with the long counter catches my attention. Much of it is dark and damaged. Through the window behind it, I can see the trees' green leaves. I stop here for a moment.

A glimpse of the outside
Through the doorways, I look from one damaged room into the next. Bricks are exposed in places, with woodland visible beyond.

Other rooms contain showers, baths and more remains of the interior. I look around and leave everything as I find it.
What stays with me
In some rooms, parts of the furnishings are still recognisable. Others mostly contain rubble and damaged building parts. Fire damage runs throughout the house.

At the end, I step back outside into the greenery. The bright window at the end of that dark room stays with me. That view of the woodland was one of the most memorable moments here.
